MYSTERIOUS CANDY!
Ok, who sent me Crunchies?

Those who know me know that I am all about Cadbury, specifically the amazing confection known as the Cadbury Crunchie. It is a wonder to behold, a candy that must truly have been invented by the angels themselves. And they are *impossible* to find in the US.

Which is why its so weird that I was sent a huge box of Crunchies. From within the US. Possibly Las Vegas.

Normally, it's [info]theycallmeboy or his awesome mom who sends me Crunchies, but there's no indication of an Irish or UK postal stamp. The only indication of the Crunchies' mysterious origin is the note on the stamp, which says it was sent "from 89109". Other than that, nothing - just a note signed "Enjoy! XXX" in handwriting that I don't quite recognize.

Now, it's all together *possible* that [info]theycallmeboy or his awesome mom set up some elaborate scheme involving transcontinental shipping, a receiver and a bang-up repackaging job (they were wrapped in bubble wrap - bubble wrap! - within their box, for to keep them intact), but I'm not quite sure they'd want to go to those lengths. Or maybe they would, I don't know. All I know is that I have Crunchies. And they are awesome. So, thanks to whoever sent them, if it was one of you.

If no one 'fesses up, I'll be inspecting the packages for tampering. Yes, I actually am that paranoid.

Oh my god! I had almost forgotten about Crunchies! The Crunchie Ice Cream Bar was AMAZING...

Also, now you have me thinking about Crunchies. Which reminded me of this.

MY CHILDHOOD!

That advert is mad!

Cadbury's is the best, and while it wasn't me who sent Crunchies to [info]kiji_kat, I definitely would have done :)

Same here. I mean, if I'd known she loved them that much, and I could get some, I so totally would.

(Hm. Need to see if that's something Central Market might, by some miracle, actually have, and if so, do something when it's cooler -- trying to get Crunchies home without temperature fail would be enough of a challenge in this heat, and I wouldn't trust the shipper to keep them in decent temps all the way there from here. Mostly at this end.)

I know quite a few people in the US who would like a care package of Cadbury's Dairy Milk too, I'll have to look into it :)

Ahh...Crunchie...excellent choice.
Right now, with the weather being a bit warmer here in Blighty, we (and by that I mean, me) have been partaking of the wonder that is the Crunchie Ice-Cream Bar...mmmm...
There's also a Crunchie Ice-cream lolly thing with popping candy in it, but that's a weird addition for my refined tastes.

Are Crunchies chocolate-based? It seems like they'd melt in Vegas, if so.

My sister had a friend who'd go to Canada with his father a couple of times a year so they could buy Crunchies. The dad (who was born in Ireland) was addicted to them, and you couldn't get them in the US, and it's not that far from southern NH to Canada. They got weird looks sometimes from the customs officials who asked them why they were wanting to enter Canada....

If you have any friends who have your address who are skeptics, maybe check with them -- there was a skeptics convention in Vegas very recently (as in, my friend LJ'ed from there on Wednesday or so). That might narrow it down.

Or it might not.

Skeptics? I'm afraid I don't know the term. Other than people who are, you know, skeptics. Is it a club for rational thinkers, or something else?
